halo 3 snow is pretty awesome imo :-)
it falls of edges when you walk on them and it just looks great.
is there new footage of bfbc2 out?

  7. mupp33n says:

They were all talkin about how ‘Realistic’ the snow would be in BFBC2 (HD Snow) but to me it looks just like any flat white texture lol. Halo 3 snow is one step to it.

microsoft and sony let the major hardware companies make a super expensive custom gaming computer (“xbox” / “playstation”) but then sell it to so many people and also make money from every game FOR their system that they can price it ridiculously low.
thats why every new console means a jump in technology: mass production of expensive stuff = it gets cheaper sooner than it would have normally.

and you wont be playing “this” at all, it was a target render for a game that came out in 2007.

  9. NiNm62 says:

tricks like that are always the first way things get done before hardware can handle the real deal. but i think we’re talking about the next step here and a next step in game technology would be a novelty that actually affects gameplay.
a decal is just a visual effect. convincing snow physics would be a major break through and you could base a lot of what happens in a game on it theoretically. think of ai zombies hiding in the snow or you having to find something in it.

  10. mupp33n says:

0:49 they could simply add a dynamic decal where it lands, that pops up when the ‘alien’ crashes down. Ofc hidden by some smoke for 1 sec.

especially when the new xbox and playstation come out, somehow computergraphics always get better when new consoles come out. I’ll be playing this on a hardcore PC anyways. .

  12. NiNm62 says:

    11 months ago. . . hmm

0:10 an effect that smooth and detailed could be done as a script with a little effort
0:49 the landing alien leaves a track in the snow. the entire area must be made of dynamic snow, i think it could be done on strong cpus
1:13 from here on the lighting is way too complex

    summary: technically almost possible!
BUT imo the camera behaviour and chain of events (impossible) make this so immersive. developers need to continue focussing on gameplay before anything else.

first question though: can your computer handle it? XD

    pure beauty

  15. GaryLiao says:

1-2 might be a bit of a stretch. =P But one day. . . one day, maybe. We can always hope.

i am betting a million bucks that in 1 to 2 years this will be INGAME :)

  18. 85natrapS says:

Not exactly. It’s a pre-rendered movie. But it was made to look like Crysis.

  19. gmanspartan11 says:

    omg but this is crysis?

  20. magyarorszag2007 says:

  21. dynamit380cz says:

oh , am sorry i didn’t read INFO . . but the scene where are the soldiers fighting in cold can be realy (i know its film but it looks like game !). BTW : know somebody , when will be CRYSIS WAEHEAD in USA shops ?

    SRY 4MY ENGLISH , IAM CZECH !!

  22. 85natrapS says:

It was made before Crysis was released. It was a pre-rendered film made by Blur Studios. Crytek basically said, “Make a film using this scenario with your best graphics and special effects, and we’ll see if we can match that in-game. “

  23. dynamit380cz says:

:O , it’s looks like Crysis Warhed on MAX graphic :O , maybe it’s some beta mod. .

  24. devilazpl says:

    its cryengine 3 graphic. .

  25. 85natrapS says:

It’s a graphical benchmark so Crytek knew what their aim was and ultimate goal to achieve. It’s sort of like a visualization of what they wanted to make the game look like.
